reina_t_1111: OMG, I just came online and saw the post at MotokoAoyama.com. I saw what Ray had written and was like, “He’s not just talking about your story being placed, is he?”.
reina_t_1111: Congratulations!! I’m very happy for both of you.
minimoniotaku: Thank you, Reina.
reina_t_1111: So when’s the wedding?
minimoniotaku: No date has been set yet.
reina_t_1111: CJ, fess up. Tara’s not following in Nozomi’s and Johnson’s footsteps, is she?
minimoniotaku: Nope. It was just the right time to ask her.
reina_t_1111: Phew! How long have you and Tara been dating?
minimoniotaku: Three years. I think this engagement has brought the two of us closer together.
reina_t_1111: Awww. How’d you go about it?
minimoniotaku: I was at my uncle Joe’s for Xmas Eve dinner. My mother and Joe’s fiancee Joey were there. They all knew I was going to pop The Question that night.
minimoniotaku: I had Tara follow me into this small room in the house that they use as a TV room, slipped the box with the ring out and asked her to marry me. She was NOT completely expecting it.
reina_t_1111: And then?
minimoniotaku: Stood there, the two of us, for the next 20 minutes kissing and hugging. It was great.
reina_t_1111: Were you nervous?
minimoniotaku: A little before I asked her The Question, and then the rest of the tension must have just escaped through my legs because Tara said she could feel me shaking afterwards and couldn’t understand why.
reina_t_1111: I believe it!
reina_t_1111: Did you tell your buddy Watt the big news?
minimoniotaku: Yep, the very same night.
reina_t_1111: Speaking of Watt, how come his signature isn’t on that guitar? I thought he was one of The Stooges now?
minimoniotaku: I don’t know. It doesn’t matter - it’s signed by the founding members of the Stooges and I have Watt’s autograph on the first Minutemen record I ever bought anyway.
reina_t_1111: Good point.
minimoniotaku: I wish you could be at the wedding!
reina_t_1111: Doing what? Being a bridesmaid? I could see it now: “Who’s that wonky-eyed Asian girl in the wedding party, and why did she bring eight other friends with her?” XD
minimoniotaku: You could always sing at the wedding if it were possible.
reina_t_1111: It’s funny that you mention that, since I started this week’s Five Stars with “Happy Summer Wedding”! That’s too obvious of a choice though, isn’t it?
minimoniotaku: Yeah, it is, unless one were to play it during the processional at the end of the wedding.
reina_t_1111: Somewhere there’s probably two American MoMusu fans looking to put that song on the set list for their own wedding.
minimoniotaku: I wouldn’t be surprised. I always thought Yui Horie’s “Yakusoku ~Eternal Promise~” would make a good wedding song.
reina_t_1111: Awww. That is such a sweet choice. ![]()
minimoniotaku: It sure beats the hell out of “You Light Up My Life”.
reina_t_1111: Ewwwwww! I agree.
