  1. The One In Which Reina Does A Post Herself

    August 24, 2008 by Reina T.

Journal Entry, 8.24.08, 2043hrs. It’s been a busy time for both my gracious Amerikajin supporter and his favorite idol these past several weeks – myself with the musical and getting ready for the new MoMusu single, and Ceej with rebooting his blogging, his novel, another new blog (music-related, but nothing to do with J-Pop or punk rock – that’s all I’m at liberty to say now ;) ), and his marriage plans. Somewhere along the way last month’s Tanakamesen from CDData got passed over. Consider that oversight rectified. Hopefully I’ll get to talk with Ceej this week and we’ll get back to our normal madness!

    XOXO,
    Reina T.

  2. Tanakamesen: Year Three

June 25, 2008 by CJ Marsicano

It’s Reina. It’s her new column. And she’s in a kimono (just in time for the natsu matsuris to happen)… and I love seeing her in kimonos. What more do you need?

Oh, another dialogue? Yeah, “we’re” overdue for another one. Come back tomorrow. :)

  3. Two Years Of Tanakamesen

May 16, 2008 by CJ Marsicano

minimoniotaku; Hey, Happy Two Years Of Tanakamesen, Reina.
reina_t_1111: Hehehe. Thank you, Ceej. ^___^
minimoniotaku: The photo shoot here reminds me of a certain Whiteberry single.
reina_t_1111: I know you don’t mean “Tachiri Kinshi” after my teasing you the other day. ;)
    minimoniotaku: Heh.

ETA 5.22.08: Fellow magnificent bastard from YODC, Langdon Alger, found a bigger scan of the page, which I just uploaded. Thank you very much, brother!

  4. The One In Which CJ Plays Catch-Up With Tanakamesen Installments

May 12, 2008 by CJ Marsicano

Since the 24th installment of Reina’s CD Data column, which came out since the last time I did a post here, will probably end up online any day now, I might as well post #23 while I’m thinking of it.

As for comments on the T-shirt Reina is wearing in this installment, I’ll leave those up to my blogging brother and fellow Magnificent Bastard at YODC, Langdon Alger. For more Engrish T-shirt caption fun (including a couple of classic pics of Her Royal Hotness), there’s always DJ Mai-Mai’s latest post at H!P Fangirling.

  5. The One In Which Reina Is Pissed Off!

reina_t_1111: Hey Ceej. Sorry to hear about your Mac. :(
minimoniotaku: Thanks, Reina. I think I can deal with “Windoze Blister” for a few months until I can get a new MacBook Pro.
reina_t_1111: There you go. At least you’ll be getting your work done.
minimoniotaku: Yeah. I had a busy weekend and need to catch up on blog posts and write one for Stuck In A Pagoda when I’m finished here.
reina_t_1111: Are both sites ready for IW’s first anniversary?
minimoniotaku: Oh yeah. Been ready since last Friday, in fact.
reina_t_1111: Cool. Speaking of blog posts, I’m going to catch up on a few myself.
minimoniotaku: Yeah, there’s still ones being written on “Resonant Blue” from what I’ve seen.
    reina_t_1111: OK

    [a few minutes later]

reina_t_1111: What in the flying motherfucking fuck?!?
minimoniotaku: That’s what I was thinking when my Mac died.
reina_t_1111: Did you see this fucking review Yoshimi did?
minimoniotaku: Um, no, I didn’t… *reads”… Oh shit!
reina_t_1111: This bitch called me “Reina Winehouse”! What a fucking insult!
    minimoniotaku: That was lame.
reina_t_1111: That’s an understatement! My hairstyle in the PV hardly looks like Amy Winehouse!
minimoniotaku: You’d need ridiculous tattoos, excess eyeliner and a bloodstream full of drugs to complete that comparison.
reina_t_1111: Tell me about it! Suppose I went on Five Stars this week and said “Yoshimi does as many drugs as Amy Winehouse?”
    minimoniotaku: Exactly.
reina_t_1111: I’ve got a good mind to fly over there and kick her ass so badly that she’ll be needing a different kind of “Rehab”!
    minimoniotaku: Whoa.
reina_t_1111: No, better yet, what’s that Public Enemy line from “Don’t Believe The Hype”? “All the critics, you can hang them, I’ll hold the rope”?
minimoniotaku: I don’t think Chuck D meant that literally.
reina_t_1111: Even better — I should go find her, strap her to a chair, and rip her cunt hairs out one at a time with tweezers!
minimoniotaku: I’m not even going there. o_O
reina_t_1111: Goddamnit, it’s not my fault that Tsunku and Daichi Suzuki thought that Takitty and I should be the lead singers on the song!
    minimoniotaku: Right.
reina_t_1111: I mean, I’d like to see JunJun and LinLin get some more lines on singles, but they’re still getting used to the language, and…
    minimoniotaku: REINA! It’s OK!
reina_t_1111: I’m sorry, Ceej, I just gotta vent.
minimoniotaku: I think this week it’s your turn to get off of IM and put a Miles Davis album on.
reina_t_1111: I’d better make it something like On The Corner or Black Beauty Live At Fillmore West, I can use the mental floss.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I wish no harm or ill will whatsoever on Yoshimi whatsoever. I happen to like her as a person, and her worship posts for Li Chun, by her open admission, were inspired by my worship posts for Reina on Stuck In A Pagoda, something by which I am extremely flattered. Yoshimi is entitled to her opinion, right or wrong. My point here, however dark-humored and satirical, is that if I were in Reina’s shoes, I wouldn’t be too happy with what Yoshimi wrote.

  6. The One Which Has Too Much Sugar In It

minimoniotaku: I see that Tanakamesen is old enough to have a beer in the States now.
reina_t_1111: Aw, c’mon, in Japan you get an extra year to work on your liver – drinking age is only 20 here.
minimoniotaku: Like I’m one to talk. I hardly drink to begin with.
reina_t_1111: You’re of Italian heritage and you don’t even have a glass of wine every day?
minimoniotaku: No, but I should – especially at my age and considering that I like wine.
reina_t_1111: What’s stopping you from doing that? Not having any wine in the house?
minimoniotaku: No, I have a few bottles here. What stops me sometimes is if I get a cold or allergy I’m afraid to drink anything alcoholic when I’m taking medicine.
reina_t_1111: OK, I can see that. Sounds a little overly cautious but better safe than sorry, huh?
    minimoniotaku: Exactly.
reina_t_1111: What about chocolate? I know we discussed this before Valentine’s Day offhand, but…
minimoniotaku: You know how I said I couldn’t get Tara any chocolate for Valentine’s Day because she’s in the middle of a diet?
    reina_t_1111: Uh-oh.
minimoniotaku: Yeah, I got an entire bagful.
reina_t_1111: LOL! I hope you have a good dental plan!
minimoniotaku: Yeah, it’s called not eating it all at once.

  7. Number 20… Number 20… Number 20…

The newest installment of Reina’s CD Data column is out. Reina always looks good in a kimono (Ai Yori Aoshii flashbacks, anyone?), but this time around the Wonkylicious One has her hair in a hairdo more befitting of her traditional attire than her trademark tails. Perhaps she’s starting to phase them out now that’s she’s over 18?

It also bears repeating: I wish someone like Paul or Jin were still translating these…
